Defense Verdict on Serious Injury

On Friday, March 13, 2020, Alexandra Alvarez obtained a double defense verdict on “serious injury” threshold in a case involving three plaintiffs in the Civil Court, Bronx County. The three plaintiffs consisted of a driver and two passengers in a vehicle involved in a two-car collision. In a damages only trial, the jury non-suited the two passengers, one of whom was 21 years-old at the time of the accident and had undergone a knee arthroscopy. The verdict as to all three was rendered in one hour.
